Gulflander
They say the Gulflander takes its passengers on a voyage “from nowhere to nowhere”. With the Gulflander making its half day journey through some of the most remote and inaccessible countryside on the Queensland map it’s easy to see why! This award winning service makes its way 152 kilometres inland from the Gulf of Carpentaria as it travels between Normanton and Croydon. Savannahlander
The Savannahlander escorts passengers to the remote heart of Queenslander’s Gulf country, a region heralded as one of Australia’s true final frontiers. Travelling from Cairns to Forsayth, this unique rail experience offers insight into of the most diverse and fascinating regions of Queensland on its leisurely journey.
The Savannahlander is a classic 1960 Rail Motor which travels between Cairns and Forsayth, up the scenic Kuranda Railway, through World Heritage listed rainforests, then through the savannah to outback Australia. This grand old train reflects the pace and grace of a by-gone era, offering a unique travel experience for its passengers.
