Itinerary
Day 1 Depart Brisbane on Spirit of the Outback for an unforgettable journey through Queensland’s outback.
Day 2 Arrive in Longreach, where you will be met by your local guide. Join a Sunset Spectacular Thomson River Dinner Cruise. (L,D)
Day 3 Explore the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Display in Winton, visit the multi-award winning Waltzing Matilda Museum and spend the afternoon at Belmont Station, where you will see the bones of Elliot the Sauropod – Australia’s largest dinosaur. (B,L,D)
Day 4 Visit Carisbrooke Station on the way to Lark Quarry with over 3,000 prehistoric dinosaur footprints. Step back in time to the land of dinosaurs and temperate forests. See the only recorded evidence of a dinosaur stampede on the planet. (B,L,D)
Day 5 Continue along the Dinosaur Trail to the Flinders Discovery Centre in Hughenden where the remnants of the Inland Sea reveal many secrets. From here, head to Kronosaurus Korner, one of the premier marine fossil museums in the world. (B,L,D)
Day 6 Today, we head northwest via Julia Creek, the Burke & Wills three ways and Gregory Downs, arriving into Adel’s Grove for two nights. (B,L,D)
Day 7 Explore the rich diversity of Lawn Hill National Park. Admire spectacular views, paddle through the picturesque gorge, go swimming in Inadarri Falls and picnic amongst towering red pillars. (B,L,D)
Day 8 Discover the World Heritage listed Riversleigh Fossil Fields, where the bones of fossilised animals of 20 million years ago have been unearthed. Travel on to Mount Isa for two nights. (B,L,D)
Day 9 Visit the Underground Hospital and Historic Tent House, before exploring the ‘must see’ Outback at Isa Complex. Watch the sun set over the rugged landscape and the encircling Selwyn Ranges. (B,L,D)
Day 10 Take a Mount Isa surface mine tour, then enjoy some leisure time shopping, prior to boarding The Inlander for a colourful journey across to Townsville. (B)
Day 11 Your tour ends as you pull into Townsville Station.

Subject to minimum numbers for tour to operate. Accommodatio at Adel’s Grove has shared facilities. Be advised that you need to be able to get in a canoe with assistance if required and/or climb the island stack, which is a well-defined track with steps to see Lawn Hill Gorge.
