Itinerary
Day 1 Board Queenslander Class on The Sunlander for your journey from Brisbane to Cairns. Queenslander Class is not just a journey but an iconic experience -a taste of everything Queensland has to offer, from chef prepared meals to stunning scenery and wonderful service. (L,D)
Day 2 On arrival in Cairns you will be transferred to your accommodation. The rest of the day is free for you to explore at your own pace. (B,L)
Day 3 Today, join Sunlover Reef Cruises for your cruise to Moore Reef in the Great Barrier Reef. Enjoy over four hours on the outer reef, plenty of time to be amazed and inspired by the unsurpassed beauty and splendour of this underwater playground. (B,L)
Day 4 It’s time to visit the mountain village of Kuranda. Join the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, a unique gondola experience that takes you up to Kuranda. Glide just metres above the pristine rainforest canopy and enjoy spectacular views of the panoramic landscapes. After some time at leisure in Kuranda join the Kuranda Scenic Railway for your return journey to Cairns. Experience the new Gold Class of train travel, where you can take in all the spectacular scenery of the train, with a glass of bubbles, or beer and canapés. (B)
Day 5 Enjoy a leisurely breakfast today before being transferred to the airport for your flight to Darwin. (B)
Day 6 This morning, travel via the Adelaide River and the Marrakai Plains deep into Kakadu National Park. Enjoy a Yellow Water Billabong Cruise to observe saltwater crocodiles and the colourful range of birdlife, then visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre and view the informative displays. (B,L)
Day 7 After breakfast you will be transferred to Darwin Train Station where you‘ll join The Ghan for your journey into the Red Centre and the town of Alice Springs. (B,L,D)
Day 8 On arrival in Alice Springs transfer to your hotel and freshen up, before enjoying an Alice Springs Town Tour. This evening, enjoy the Red Centre Dreaming Dinner and Show in a unique bush setting. (B,L,D)
Day 9 Today, travel to the Red Centre. In the afternoon, travel to Kata Tjuta and delight in the spectacular panoramic view of magnificent domes at sunset. Then, get ready to star gaze and wonder at the sheer size of Australia as you join the Sounds of Silence Dinner. (B,L,D)
Day 10 This morning, rise early for your Uluru Sunrise Tour. Witness the spectacular sunrise while absorbing Uluru’s natural history and deep significance to the Anangu people. View rock art, waterholes and appreciate the unique flora and fauna of Uluru prior to returning to your hotel mid-morning for your coach transfer back to Alice Springs. (B,L)
Day 11 Your morning is free for you to explore Alice Springs at your own pace, before rejoining The Ghan to continue your journey south to Adelaide. (B,D)
Day 12 Welcome to the City of Churches. Your afternoon is free to explore the delights of Adelaide. (B,L)
Day 13 Today, join a tour to the Barossa Valley. En route, breathe in the beauty of the Adelaide Hills and the German village of Hahndorf. (B,L)
Day 14 Get an early start today to join the ferry from Cape Jervis to Kangaroo Island. Famous for its shipwreck coast, Kangaroo Island is home to the wallaby, goanna, echidna, koala, kangaroo and a haven for marine wildlife and seabirds. (B,L)
Day 15 Enjoy your day of leisure prior to boarding the Indian Pacific in the evening to continue your journey to Perth. (B,D)
Day 16 Relax in your cabin, or head to the club car and enjoy the changing scenery as you cross the Nullarbor to Kalgoorlie. This evening, there is an option for a town tour of Kalgoorlie before continuing on to Perth. (B,L,D)
Day 17 Welcome to Perth! Bid your fellow rail travellers farewell as you are transferred to your accommodation, with your afternoon at leisure. This evening, you’ll be transferred back to the station for dinner with a difference. Join the Spirit of the West for a four-hour journey through historic Avon and the Swan Valley in a nostalgic steam train. (B,D)
Day 18 Join a city and Fremantle tour. Starting in the city, the tour takes in all key attractions and historical points of interest, before heading to one of Perth’s best beaches, Cottesloe Beach. Then, it’s off to the historic port town of Fremantle with time at leisure. This afternoon, join a Swan River Cruise back to Perth with Captain Cook Cruises. Onboard, enjoy a Western Australian wine tasting while cruising past the extravagant waterfront houses of Millionaires Row. (B)
Day 19 Your tour concludes after breakfast this morning when you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home. (B)
