Itinerary
Day 1
Depart Cairns on the Savannahlander and travel via Kuranda Range to Mareeba and west towards the Gulf country. Visit Tyrconnell Mine, a restored working gold mine of the late 1800s and join a fascinating tour of one of Chillagoe’s amazing limestone caves. (L,D)
Day 2
Assured of a unique place in the rich fabric of Australian natural history, Undara Lava Tubes provides a visit of interest and fascination. (B,L,D)
Day 3
An early start to the day as you head to Croydon for a walking tour of this historic town. Lunch by the Norma River on the way to your Sunset Cruise at Karumba. (B,L,D)
Day 4
Depart for Normanton to board the famous Gulflander train for a memorable trip to Blackbull and Croydon. (B,L,D)
Day 5
A day of interest and outdoor enjoyment is assured as you explore the magnificent Cobbold Gorge by boat. (B,L,D)
Day 6
Today, travel via Einasleigh and Copperfield Gorge onboard the Savannahlander and then on to Mt Surprise overnight. (B,L,D)
Day 7
Today, another great rail journey on the Savannahlander to return to Cairns. (B)
